We Got the Camera Back!

I forgot the camera at Aunt Lulu's on Christmas, so this post is a week too late. We also missed a whole week worth of pictures!

Jameson has outgrown his infant car seat. His new one is huge, but he seems to like it. The cover isn't machine washable, so I bought a removable water-proof pad for him to sit on. It has a few toys attached that he seems pretty happy with.

On Christmas Eve we went to church. Nathan finally got a taste of what it's like trying to keep Jameson happy and quite for an hour. We tag-teamed walking him around the back most of the time.

After church we went to the Bowyers for a party. Jameson had fallen asleep in the car, and amazingly stayed asleep for about 20 minutes in the house. A nice little power nap, and then he was happy for a few more hours.

Oliva had a good time playing with him. Lydia wanted to hold him but her sister wouldn't give him up.

On Christmas day we went up to Aunt Lulu's. William loved getting laughs out of Jameson.

Caiya and Jameson had a nice conversation on the couch. She was again very protective of him and didn't want anyone else nearby. When Amelia tried to explain that she was Jameson's grandma, Caiya didn't believe her. She's not grandma, she's auntie!

So big!

We tried out Caiya's old swing in the yard. Jameson loved it and eventually fell asleep in it!

Great-Uncle Alan rocked him for awhile.

Then Caleb and Alec tried to get some giggles out of him.

He started getting fussy, so Grandma tried to get him to play. He's too tired!

But Aunt Lulu has the right touch!

This snow globe is fascinating when you're a tired baby! (Sorry, there are three conversations going on in the room and the camera microphone is very sensitive!)

5 Months Baby!

My great big baby boy is five months old! He is getting very big -- so much so that he has outgrown his carseat. We've switched to the larger convertible seat, which can last him until he's 65 pounds. I think that will be enough!

No list of benchmarks this month because I have no idea where the book is. I'm sure it's lurking in some very logical place, but Jameson has been extra fussy the past few days and I haven't had time to look.

Getting So Grown Up

Jameson is getting to do so many grown-up things. He tried out an orange. He enjoyed mashing it up, and he got it all over his face. But not much of it ended up in his mouth. But it was a fun experience!

What's this?

Jameson's reading the sports page! The Sunday paper is a favorite new toy now. So easy to wrinkle and chew on.

He likes his tomato. So many little bits to hold onto, soft and chewy.

Daddy's foot was a great new toy as well. It wriggles and wiggles and gives him a good challenge for holding onto it. Yet another toy he can share with the cat!

When Jameson gets tired, he practices talking. This morning he was talking to a pillow on the floor. It had a tassel that he kept trying to roll over to grab. He has rolled to his stomach a few times, but I've never seen it. I just find him after the fact!

He's also getting quite good at sitting up. The boppy makes it easier to keep from toppling over. He really loves this new perspective on the world. So proud! (And yes, his socks don't match. They're warm and that all that matters.)

He Really Does Prefer People with Glasses

I came into the bedroom the other day to find this going on. Jameson was fascinated with his new toy.

When I showed this video to Nathan, he didn't recognize himself at first.

Nathan wanted to take a nap with Jameson, but Jameson didn't want to nap.

We went to the 4th Ave Street Fair last weekend, and Jameson was very tired. He slept on the way home, but didn't want to let go of his little clown.

He likes this chew toy (ugh, sounds like it's for a dog) if it's cold.

And, look what I did. I put in a garbage disposal. Yea! Thanks Mom!

Sitting!

It's a struggle, but Jameson can sit up on his own for a few minutes at a time. I get him propped up, then he slowly leans forward until he's face-planted into the blanket. Oddly enough, he likes this.

Nathan gave Jameson this bottle to play with, and this is what he did. Actually, this is what he does to everything he comes into contact with, it's just that the bottle lets us see just what's going on.

Yesterday he kept making this funny face and sucking his lips in. It was a neat new feeling, I guess. And very cute!

We tried rice cereal again. He was more interested in chewing on the spoons than eating the cereal. He does a great job of opening his mouth, but the cereal doesn't always stay in his mouth. We'll just keep trying!

Tickle fest with Daddy. He loves to laugh.

Swinging through the air. Yes, it's scary, but it's so much fun. This is what dads are for, right?
