Seal-Like

When Ben was here he said that Jameson scoots around like a little seal. I think he's right. I was trying to capture Jameson playing under the table, but as soon as he saw the camera he wanted to come grab it.

When he got over to me he tried so hard to get up high enough to get the camera.

The camera loves him.

Last night Nathan sat down with a little snack, and Jameson was really curious. He crawled over to the couch and tried to climb up onto the couch. He was getting on his knees, grabbing at the couch, but couldn't get it. Nathan helped him up to his knees, and he stood right up.

And proceeded to eat Nathan's entire cheese stick.

He loves the baby in the mirror.

Crawling! For Real!

Jameson can still get moving super fast around the house, but I think he's going to be crawling up on his knees very soon.

Look! Up and ready to go!

Gosh, this is hard.

Mom, I don't like this...

This video starts with Jameson's first movie. I turned the video on as he was holding the camera, and this was the result. Sorry if it makes you quesy.

Next you get to see how fast Jameson can move on his tummy.

Last night he did crawl up on his knees as I was drawing his bath. I think the tile was so cold he didn't want to touch it. He crawled on his knees and elbows for about five feet, but when I got the camera for him to show it again, he didn't get it again.

And finally, some bath time fun. He was blowing through his spit to make a funny noise for the toys, and making voices for them. He's really playing. He loves those bath toys.

Independence

I am continually amazed at how fast this little man is growing, and how mobile he is. He still has a mild obsession with power cords, and likes to eat anything he can find on the floor, which is typically cheerios he hid in the folds of his clothes, and cat food. We're working on that.

But the great thing is that he just scoots around to what he wants to play with, and can occupy himself for long chunks of time. Yesterday he knocked the pile of books over, then started pulling things out of his toy chest.

He loves his kitty book, and laughs at all the pictures.

He stayed happy in there for long enough for me to get the kitchen clean. When he go bored, he came out to find me!

We found out from the Halls today that Jameson's little friend arriving in September is going to be a boy. I'm sure they are going to have a lot of fun next summer!

We're Walking

Most of the first month of Jameson's life is a sleep-deprived blur, but one memory I have held on to is how Nathan could calm Jameson down when he was tired but didn't know how to relax. Nathan would lay down and hold Jameson so he was sitting on Nathan's chest. At a few weeks old Nathan still had to hold the little guy up or else he would collapse into a little ball, and Nathan's hands nearly covered Jameson's entire torso.

Then Nathan would slowly bend Jameson back and forth, back and forth, while singing, "We're rocking, we're rocking..." It calmed Jameson down, but it never seemed to work when I tried it.

Well now I get to see a new version. A couple times a day I hear Nathan say "Let's go get her!" and then he sings very softly, "We're walking, we're walking..."

A smart little guy

First we have Jameson playing in his crib after a nap. I was trying to et a video of him turning on his dinosaur to sing, but he knows what's up. After that we see Jameson playing in his jammies, then trying to climb into my lap because he wants the buttons on my jammies!

He sat outside and watched me garden for awhile. He likes the breeze, and I think he was talking back to the birds.

The garden is growing. We have lots of corn, and a few watermelon plants poking through.

And a teeny tiny tomato! Yes, the plant looks pretty sad, but I did water it immediately after taking this shot. The plants get plenty of water, but the heat seems to be wilting the tomatoes anyway.

We went to Bible study at the Bowyers and Jameson got a piggy back ride up to the door.

Spring is Budding All Over

I've got some little seedlings coming up in the garden. Here are a few tiny basil plants (not the dead grass). And after I took this picture I discovered 5 corn plants coming up as well. Yea!

And Jameson has new teeth. The bottom two on the sides are barely poking through. I feel bad that I didn't discover them -- the lady at the daycare at the gym did!

Jameson has really been enjoying our new morning tradition. He eats cheerios and banana while I sweep the entire house.

He is getting very good at picking up each piece.

Breakfast is so good!

Unfortunately, not all of the food gets into his tummy.

A few days ago Jameson discovered the cat door. Jasmine showed him how it works.

He tried to get to it, but the wine rack stumped him. He hasn't shown any interest since then, so I think we're okay.

He likes his wire bead thingie. It makes noise when you shake it.
