I'm Gonna Get You!

A collection of videos.

First, Jameson playing his new favorite game. He's yelling "I'm going to get you!" which for him means, "Come get me!" He then tries to open the front door. I need to rig something up so that when he does figure out the lock the door won't open.

Next, a new trick he figured out with his water. I don't know where he learned this, or why he does it, but we've been trying to ignore it and that seems to be discouraging him. He hasn't done this nearly as much the past few days. He also thinks the flowers on the table are trees.

Finally, a slightly old video of Jameson being pure boy - playing with a ball. This part gets a bit long, and you get a great shot of my shoe as I move the couch to rescue the ball. But watching him chase that ball is so cute, I couldn't stand to clip it.

Zoo

Jameson and I went to the zoo last week with Grandma Warner. I forgot my camera, but Grandma brought hers.

Jameson was pretty fascinated by the animals, especially the ones close to his size. The elephants and giraffes were a bit too much. These fish were pretty cool.

The ducks were his favorite, I think. I need to find a park with ducks so we don't have to pay to see them! Jameson really wanted to get closer, and I'm glad he didn't figure out how to go under the fence.

I took him into the aviary. Jameson wasn't interested in the birds that were flying, but he liked chasing the ones on the ground.

We sat down for a snack of cheerios. Jameson discovered that he can eat the cheerios directly. I think he's imitating the cat.

We practiced walking. There were a lot of other little kids running around, and I had hoped that this would encourage him to do it on his own, but no luck.

He did like to run, though.

The polar bears were his favorite, I think. There were two of them, one was playing in the water. Jameson was a little scared, but very interested.

Jameson's First Car Accident

Jameson and I had a grand adventure on New Years Eve. We were attempting to go to the store, but we got a little sidetracked. As we were driving through the neighborhood, a woman in her parked SUV opened her door and hit my car as I was driving by. I didn't see the door at all, so I was very frightened by the sudden crunching sound. I'm sure Jameson was surprised (and he probably saw the whole thing!) but he didn't cry.

He was a very good boy, but very confused. There was a lot of damage done to the passenger side of the car, but we are both fine. I'm so glad that the windows didn't break all over Jameson!

The SUV door took off my mirror (I found it laying back by her before I came around to check the damage -- I was very confused!)

It also ripped up the handle. The door still latches and locks, thank goodness!

And just for good measure, some dents on the rear door.

This is a shot of the front of the car. Notice that it's not damaged at all? I really hope this will help convince the insurance that I did not hit a door that was already open -- the door was opened into my car.

Here you can see the door of the other car. It's clearly bent inward, as if she slammed into something. If I had ran into it, it would be bent the other way. The deputy came to the same conclusion, and cited her for opening her door into traffic, but the driver is still contesting everything. Which means if we want this to be fixed now, we have to file it under our insurance.

This obviously wasn't a bad wreck. Jameson took it all in stride, acting as if sitting on the sidewalk for an hour is a normal occurrence. He was very nice to the people in the other car. He offered them his cheerios. He's such a nice boy.

Thanks, Grandpa Roo

Jameson's first Christmas present arrived in the mail yesterday. We let him open it early since Nathan wouldn't want him to open it on the 25th anyway.

I gave him the package to see what he would do with it. He promptly handed it back to me with a "here-you-go". I pulled up the tape on one side, and that was enough to get him interested.

Wow, this is fun! I get to rip things!

I opened up the box, and he grabbed it back again.

For some reason this dog was the only thing in a little baggy. Jameson liked trying to put the other pieces in the bag as well.

It's a duplo farm set, with a farmer, dog, sheep, cow, pig, wheelbarrow, and a few blocks. Jameson really enjoyed me making the animal noises, and was able to imitate a little.

His favorite piece is the dog. He's been carrying it around all yesterday and today. The poor things nose is already scuffed, he has some red crayon markings on his belly, and he got tossed out of the crib when Jameson woke up from his nap this morning. (He fell asleep clutching the little doggy!)

Thanksgiving!

Grandma Warner sent over some pictures from Thanksgiving. They arn't the best quality due to flash issues, but you can tell we had a fun time.

Nathan put Jameson on his shoulders and started running around the yard. Leah and Caleb chased them, and Jameson had a blast. I've never heard him laugh that hard for that long.

Thanks, Grandma

This toy was given to us almost as soon as Jameson was born, by Nathan's cousin Denia. It had been her daughters, and she was clearly excited to get it out of the house. We happened to "forget" it at Grandma's house months ago, but she found it and gave it back last night.

The batteries have to go dead eventually, right?

But Jameson was in extra-cute mode this morning, and you get to see him dance, climb, talk, stand, fall, hide, and grab the camera. Enjoy.

Potty Time!

I know Jameson isn't ready to be truly potty trained yet, but I want to get him familiar and comfortable with the concept. And so he's been spending a few minutes in the bathroom each morning, doing his best to imitate mommy and daddy.

He normally goes for my hair brush, but this morning he wanted Nathan's toothbrush.

And of course he has to read, just like daddy.

So far he seems to think the entire experience is just a lot of fun, but hopefully he'll figure it out soon.

From a few nights ago: I can't believe his arm didn't go numb and wake him!
