Flatware is What Makes People Civilized

I fed Jameson off of a plate today instead of off his tray, and he was very confused. Normally, when he feeds himself he scatters the food, grabs handfuls and crams half a dozen pieces in his mouth at a time. But with the chicken in the plate he very slowly picked up one piece at a time. Eventually he realized he could lift the plate up, and that was the end of the civilized eating, but it was great while it lasted.
