Stunts

The cousins went back to Phoenix, but not before we got one group shot. It's somehow getting even harder to get all three of them to look at the camera.

Notice Jameson's shirt? It was a baby shower gift from a friend who figured it would be very appropriate for Nathan's child.

It says: "I do all my own stunts". It is very appropriate for Jameson. See?

He learned how to climb onto chairs about two weeks ago. Yesterday Nathan came out of the bathroom and found Jameson like this. Apparently he wanted his keys, and this was the result. He climbed back up there today. I told him no and took him down. We'll see if it happens again.

Ballgame

Grandpa Hazelwood is in Arizona, and he came down with the rest of the family this weekend. We went to a Rockies game, and managed to stay for a few innings.

A family in the row in front of us had a two-year old boy, and Jameson and he talked a little and shared some snacks.

We came home so Jameson could nap. Isaiah and Ariadne played in my garden.

Jameson woke up and took some time inspecting their work.

They started making "soup" from the flowers and broccoli. Jameson stayed with the pot to stir it.

And pull things off his feet?

The older kiddos had fun picking the flowers. I tried to tell Isaiah to go for the herbs for flavor, but they ended up just picking all my purple flowers.

Made for a very pretty soup.

After a bath (Jameson and Ariadne!) and dinner, Uncle Ben read with the kids.

As they all got ready to leave, Jameson climbed into the van. He was very happy to get behind the wheel. Ariadne said "I don't want Jameson to drive us - he's too little"

I Can't Believe I Allowed This

I picked Jameson up from a nap this afternoon, and he pointed and asked for something on the bookshelf in his room. I couldn't understand what he was saying, so I took him over and he grabbed a bear.

My bear.

That's Teddy. I got him for Christmas when I was one or two, I think. He's in decent shape for a bear his age, but I had never intended to let Jameson play with him. But Jameson was so happy to get to hold him and hug him, now I'm torn.

As you can see in the video below, Jameson was very torn about the prospect of putting Teddy down so we could go eat lunch. And Jameson never turns down food. After lunch he picked Teddy up from the couch and took him over to his toy pile. I have to decide tonight if I'm going to let him stay there.

A New Skill

When it happened yesterday, I thought it might be a fluke. But when it happened today, I knew my baby had taken a very important step.

He can take off his clothes. His shirt, at least. This is his new favorite thing to do after waking up from a nap. I have to hope he doesn't start doing it at other times. And if he starts taking off his pants, we'll have to start potty training!

Ice Cream

Grandma Hazelwood bought a condo in Phoenix, and Jameson and I went to help paint it a few days ago. We met U-Ann and the kids for lunch at McDonalds. The little ones discovered they could watch Grandma through the railing.

Grandma bought all the kids ice cream cones, and Jameson really enjoyed it. It was his first ice cream, I think. He needed very little instruction in "licking".

I ate about 2/3 of the cone, but Jameson got as much of it as he could. If I wasn't giving him enough, he pulled it down to his mouth. He's a strong little boy!

We spent the night at Ben and UAnns. As I was packing up the car, Jameson and Ariadne inspected one of the fountains. But Jameson really liked the gate.

We called Jameson to come back to us, but he didn't listen, so Ariadne decided to go get him.

Jameson was not very happy about that.

They both needed some thumb sucking time to calm down.
