New Friend!

Heather brought little Charles over, Nathan finally got to see him.

Jameson met the baby for the first time as well, but at first he was more excited about the camera.

When did my baby's feet get so big?

-------------

A few days ago Jameson got away from me during a clothing change. He wanted lunch.

---------------
Jameson loves all his toys, and particularly likes pulling them out of, or putting them into some container.

He eats his duplo men.

This is my rattle bunny!

This is the seat of his bouncer. I took it half apart a few weeks ago to clean it and get it ready to loan to the Halls, but Jameson is really enjoying the various parts. The seat can be a hat.

And it can be a basket. This video reminds me of a movie trying to set a historical moment -- I think Nixon must have been on every TV set for the entire decade of the 60's. We get our own historical moment. What was Jameson doing during his first presidential debate? Playing with a crochet hook, of course.

Has Your Phone Been Ringing?

Jameson has been calling someone an awful lot lately. He uses my old cell phone and his plastic phone, which makes weird noises back at him. He carries on conversations, but won't ever tell me who he's talking to. Is it you?

I Missed My Deadline

This post is part of the mo' babies online shower.

------------

One week after Jameson was born, the Simpsons movie came out and Nathan went to see it with Christopher. His wife, Heather, stayed with me, and we insisted they bring us back In-N-Out Burger.

Heather has always been great with kids, but we knew we needed to start training Christopher. So he held tiny little Jameson.

He tried to hold tiny little Jameson, but had a hard time keeping him from falling. And Heather offered him a french fry.

They had their own baby last week, and it was my goal to get over there and hold the baby incorrectly and try to feed it a steak, but I missed the one week mark. I have been able to go hold that little baby curled in a little ball, stroke the tiny hands clenched so tight in fists, and hear those kitten-like cries. I missed all of those things so much, and am so grateful that I got to experience them again, although I know there little one is going to grow up just as fast as mine did.

SideKick

Jameson is no longer the only kid around, and I think he is going to miss all the attention our friends gave him. Oh well, he'll love having a friend to play with in a few months when this little guy is bigger.

No worries, I didn't have another baby! This is Charles Christopher Hall, son of Christopher and Heather. They have a blog here.

And I sure am glad he's not mine -- he weighs 10 pounds! He still feels teeny tiny to me, and I am glad that all the little newborn sounds and cries that made me want to throw things a year ago now are now sweet and cute. Maternal memory loss has really worked wonders.

Jameson hasn't met Charles yet, but I'll be sure to get pictures whenever that happens. I'm sure Jameson will be very curious.

----------

A few days ago I found something odd in the washing machine. "Jameson?!"

"Yes, Mom?"

"What is this?"

"It's my bib, and a duplo guy. I see you putting things in there, and I thought he might like to go for a ride too. He's even got his life vest!"

Silly boy.

----------

Oh, and I made a hat for Jameson for this winter since he has such a huge head. I tried to take pictures for the pattern, and while I did get a few good ones, this is what most of them look like.

Puppy

Grandma sent a link to a webpage of a puppy licking "clean" your computer screen, and I sat Jameson down to watch it.

No Eggs

Jameson really doesn't seem to like eggs. He ate an egg yoke omelet once, but he really hates hard boiled eggs. We keep trying though. The other day he ignored the egg and ate all of his plum.

We tried out the swing again. He loved it.

He loves playing on the couch. He can flop and crawl around, and so far he hasn't fallen off.

A few days ago we noticed Jameson was being really quiet, so we went to investigate. He really likes getting into my bags, and apparently Nathan had put the bag of cheerios in the diaper bag. Luckily, I had just mopped.
