This is the Way We Suck Our Thumb

I love how Jameson sucks his thumb as he falls asleep. His movements get more random and adorable.

Jasmine was laying on Jameson's blankets on the floor, and when I put him down on the blanket he reached over for her. She's a new texture!

He loves this blanket. It's soft on one side, and the entire back is satin. The entire back! He loves to rub his face in it and chew on the satin. He's getting another tooth in right next to the first one. It's just a little nub so far.

Jasmine cuddled with us for our afternoon nap today. She started out laying on his legs, but he kept kicking her so she moved.

And just hanging out with his new annoying toy. This thing makes a noise any time it moves, so I have to be careful to take it out of his crib before he falls asleep, or he might wake himself up in the middle of the night.

A Tooth!

That's right, Jameson has sprouted a tooth. Well, a tiny corner of a tooth, at least, but it's white and sharp!

We went to a friend's house for a belated Thanksgiving dinner, and he was fussy but slept on the ride home, and stayed asleep until around 1:30 this morning. Then he started fussing and squealing in his crib. I went in to calm him down a few times, and for the most part he was just happy to see me. When I let him suck on my finger I noticed the tooth.

It's now 3 AM and we're still up. He's pretty content, just hanging out and certainly feeling very proud of himself. But I just know that if I go lay down he'll start crying just as I drift off. I'd rather stay up.

I took a video of him cooing, but I'm too lazy to upload it right now. I'll add it in the morning.

Videos from Colorado

Isaiah played piano for us. He's quite talented for a four year old. :) You can just see Jameson checking out the blanket on the floor.

This is what the entire night with all three kids was like. I know now that I don't want three babies!

And Jameson playing with Grandpa. Such a happy baby!

A Long Vacation

We just got home from a five day trip to Colorado. We got to see a lot of family and Jameson had a great time.

Grandma picked us up from the airport and had a good time with Jameson the first day.

Jameson kept us up really late on Monday night. We walked with him, sang to him rocked him, but he was just too tired to sleep. He finally went down around midnight. On Tuesday Nathan and I went out to get him a jacket, and Grandma babysat. He fought falling asleep again, but slept for four hours!

That night we went to Ben and UAnn's. Uncle Nathan was a big hit with Ariadne and Isaiah.

We attempted to take a picture of all the cousins on the couch, but this was the result. Isaiah has become a true boy and doesn't like sitting still. Ariadne is very interested in Jameson's clothes, and Jameson is about to topple over.

Grandma with all her grandbabies.

Isaiah loves the ball game. Ariadne tried as well.

'We let Jameson try out their swing. He's almost too big for it, but he loved it.

We loved it too. Easy sleep!

Jameson fought sleep for a little while Tuesday night as well. Nathan is so patient with him!

Wednesday we went to Walmart and picked up a few things. Grandma bought Jameson a mattress pad for his crib and some rice cereal and spoons. We also picked up some cheetoes for Isaiah, and Jameson really liked the bag. It's so easy to hold and makes great crinkly noises! I made Jameson the hat and mittens. They fit great, but the mittens frustrated him. His hands tasted funny and he couldn't find his thumb!

Wednesday afternoon we went to see Aunt Mary, and Jameson got his first "Christmas" present. He tried to open it but once he got one piece of paper off he was happy with that.

And this was inside! It's an owl hat that looks like a New-New! He's going to love it when he's a little bigger.

UAnn loved holding Jameson, and Araidne got a little jealous. She liked Jameson and was always excited to see him. She's not speaking full sentences yet, but every time she saw Jameson she squealed "bebee!"

Jameson fought his nap a little, and Nathan rocked him to sleep. This was such a wonderful sight.

Ariadne wanted to snuggle with Nathan as well.

After all that excitement, we finally went to see Grandpa.

On Thanksgiving Ben brought the kids over early. By now Ariadne was very fond of Uncle Nathan, although she never figured out how to say his name!

Thanksgiving dinner was great. No turkey, but very good roast and everything else.

After our dinner Jameson got his Thanksgiving meal. He had his first cereal. My cousin Lynn held him, and UAnn tried to offer him a brownie. But he took the cereal from Dad.

Not really sure what to make of it.

Figuring out the concept. He started opening his mouth when the spoon got close. He's still figuring out how to swallow the cereal, but at least two thirds of it made it to his tummy. Yum yum!

Since it was a Hazelwood holiday, the boys got the Legos out.

Grandpa got to hold the two little ones. We kept trying to get Isaiah in there as well, but he was acting shy. As you can see, Jameson is almost as big as Ariadne. Standing, he comes up to her nose, and they feel about the same weight. Ariadne is one year 17 days older than Jameson!

I gave Jameson his nighttime massage by the fire. He really liked the fire. It was more interesting than the tv most of the time! The curtains being blown by the heating vents were pretty fascinating as well.

Playtime with Grandpa.

Jameson loves tearing up this magazine. So crinkly and crunchy. Until...

The page ripped and he was so upset. We thought he got a paper cut, but he was fine. He must have liked the resistance from pulling on the paper, and was confused when it tore.

Finally, all three grandkids! Isaiah still wasn't too happy about being on camera.

Right before we left we took Jameson out for a snow picture. It snowed every day we were there but I kept putting off taking Jameson out. And now it was too late to get him wet and cold. Of course that didn't stop Nathan from getting me wet and cold. He had a pile of snowballs waiting and they all came flying at me as soon as I set the baby down. But now we're back in wonderful Arizona and there is no snow!

I still need to go through all the videos and edit them down. I will post those soon!

Weebles Wooble But They Don't Fall Down

Jameson is getting stronger and better at standing up in his bouncer. He can move around in it so that he can get to all four areas. It's slow going, spinning around and around, but he gets there. Although for some reason he always turns clockwise. (I don't normally let him fuss this long, but I wanted to share the joy with you all.)

We're getting ready to head up to Denver next week. I'm pulling out all the cold weather clothes we have for Jameson, and I had to try his little sweater on him. It's a tad big, but it fits. All those sleepless nights knitting while he kicked me in the ribs paid off!

He got kinda cocky about his sitting-up abilities, and he wobbled too far.

Here it is halfway through November and we spent a lovely afternoon outside. I took Jameson out expecting him to talk to the trees or watch the bugs, but he decided it was nap time. He slept for nearly an hour while I knitted him some little mittens for next week.

Oh, and I made fudge. Real fudge. Seriously good, melt in your mouth fudge. We've got a full pan, and it's going to get stale soon, so if you want some, come over and get it!

Squeals

Jameson isn't talking as much because he's learned how to squeal. Yes, that really is him making all those noises.

He's strong enough now that I can carry him on my back. He doesn't like it as much as being on my front, but it makes cooking while wearing him a lot easier!

Nathan used to joke that for the first year, the baby and the cat could share toys. I guess he was right.

Jameson loves to "fly" on my legs. This is how I got some of his first smiles months ago, so I love doing it as well. He's so adorable!

Just for Mom -- this was the big persian cat in the back yard. They stayed like this for half an hour. Silly cats.

Jameson went to his first girl's night with all the aunties on Nathan's side of the family. He loved the attention. Grandma helped him sit up.

Then rocked him to sleep. He slept a lot longer than his cousin Caiya!

In the morning he played with Denia.

They didn't want him to leave. He just loved all the ladies talking to him.

I've been trying to get this picture for awhile now. When he falls asleep sucking his thumb, he doesn't just suck his thumb. He gets all the way down to his palm. He just loves having his mouth full!

Self Soothing

It took three and a half months, but he's got it down. That thumb finds the mouth any time he wants, and he especially likes to fall asleep sucking on it. It's adorable, and it makes life a lot easier on me since he can fall asleep on his own fairly well now.

Love the crossed arms. Just hanging out.

Throwing gang signs in his sleep.

He has a little stegosaurous that I got back when McDonalds was doing the mini beanie babies thing. It's just perfect for his little hands. I don'tt trust him with my Steggy, since I doubt the old guy could survive much more abuse. And he's filthy.

I got this sleeper at Costco today. It's too big, and probably too warm for now, but it will be perfect in Denver. And it's got this great Steggy/Bronty hybrid.

Oh, and I've got to stop laughing at his burps.
